Visa to travel to Jamaica
There is actually no direct need for a tourist visa to Jamaica. However there are a few things that you definitely need to learn before you visit the island.

Climate
The climate in Jamaica is tropical marine, which are humid conditions with high temperatures all year round. There is also the hurricane season which starts June 1 to November 30, please note the necessary advisories before traveling during these times. The hottest time of the year in Jamaica is in July and August with temperatures twenty-five degrees Celsius to twenty-nine degrees Celsius. If it rains during your holiday, you have nothing to worry about because most times its just short showers, some visitors refer to it as liquid sunshine!
Jamaica currency
The Jamaican currency is used to pay for all goods and services, but almost anywhere you go the U.S dollar would be accepted. There are commercial banks and Cambios in all the resort towns, but the exchange rates may vary and change daily, so shop around when you are looking to convert you cash. Important to note also is that most of the ATM’s on the island will accept some of the major international credit cards.
Clothing
When traveling to Jamaica, proper clothing is very important because of the climatic conditions. It is very tropical in Jamaica so where comfortable clothing; linens and lightweight cottons would be a good choice. Some hats, for example the straw hats that you get on the island, sunglasses and sandals are important also. Do remember to bring your sun blocks, this you will need for sunbathing.
Communication
When you are in Jamaica making connections around the world is not difficult as you can make telephone calls and send faxes with ease. There are numerous internet café across the island and some hotels and the libraries offer this service. If you need to read the newspaper some hotels offer international publications or if you prefer there a number of local papers that you can get daily.
Health
When traveling on your vacation is it advisable to get the necessary vaccinations before you travel. If you are vacationing in Jamaica and needs health checkup contact the hotel where you are staying for the recommended doctor, clinic or dentist in that area. Some hotels will have medical staff on hand to assist you with cases that are not urgent. If you are not at the hotel and needs care there are a number of public or private hospitals and clinics and numerous private medical doctors all across the island.
Language
Jamaica official language is English, but you will find most persons using the Jamaican dialect of “Patois”. This might be hard for you to follow at first but when you get to understand the expressions they are really colorful and you will have fun trying them in no time.
Driving
When visiting Jamaica, if you decide to rent vehicles to drive around and do a bit of exploring on your own; remember to drive on the left hand side of the road.
